Meet Taren

Sweet Petit Desserts: Taren is the Founder & CEO of Sweet Petit Desserts, a successful bakery in Cincinnati, OH. She is a visionary leader who opened her specialty bakery in 2008 by combining her 10+ years of corporate business experience with her love for baking. She is a 3rd generation baker who believes in pouring into the youth, through her Junior Baking Series, to provide them a platform to become future entrepreneurs. As an inspirational speaker, Taren also inspires women entrepreneurs to push past their FEAR to live their best life.

Cream + Sugar: Twelve years after the opening of Sweet Petit Desserts, Taren became acutely aware of the lack of African American entrepreneurial representation in her childhood neighborhood of Evanston. Taren and her long-time friend of 30 years launched Cream + Sugar Coffeehouse in June 2020. C+S is not just your typical coffee shop.

The vision is to change the business landscape of African American communities, to spread love and inclusion, to inspire creativity, to enhance the business district, and more importantly, to have our children see people who look like them owning and operating thriving businesses.

They have a tremendous opportunity to showcase and teach entrepreneurship to the Evanston & surrounding youth by not only leading by example but offering an entrepreneurship internship and program.

Cream + Sugar is a meeting place where every walk of life is welcomed and encouraged to engage.
