ninamdot: A Portrait of Artistic Excellence

Nina Wells, widely recognized in the art realm as ninamdot, crafts a world where photography transcends mere images, becoming a narrative of passion and social reflection. Since embarking on her artistic journey in 2014, Nina has interwoven her love for the lens with the tapestry of her community, creating pieces that resonate with authenticity and engagement.

A Journey through the Viewfinder

Nina's professional odyssey as a photographer has been marked by a dedication to passion projects that echo her commitment to art and community. Each click of her camera captures not just a moment in time but a story yearning to be told. Her work extends beyond the confines of a traditional studio, creating art that is as much an experience as it is a visual feast.

Accolades and Accolades of Change

Nina's talent has not gone unnoticed, as evidenced by a series of prestigious recognitions. In 2020, she was honored as the JUMPSTART Emerging Artist by Artworks Cincinnati, a testament to her burgeoning influence in the art world. Her creative prowess caught the attention of My Brother’s Keeper Alliance in 2019, where she emerged victorious in the MBKRISING Instagram Competition.

The White House acknowledged her impact in 2016, nominating her as a SXSL Change Maker, while that same year, People's Liberty recognized her community contributions through the Globe Grant for her project, KING ME MURAL.

Exhibitions That Speak Volumes

Nina's KING ME EXHIBIT at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center showcased her ability to captivate audiences, leading to an unprecedented three-month extension due to its overwhelming popularity. Her role in the Men of Change installation, a project by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service, further solidified her status as a creative force.

At the Globe Gallery, she demonstrated her multifaceted skills by single-handedly designing, installing, and deinstalling her photo series exhibit, in addition to crafting an array of event and program materials.

Since December 2020, Nina's KING ME INDEFINITE installation has been a public art staple in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her selection from 300 applicants to execute this outside art installation speaks volumes of her exceptional talent and vision. Managing everything from weekly plans to budgets, and even guiding youth apprentices, Nina has established herself as a Creative Leader, fostering team rapport and solving problems through innovation and resourcefulness.

Conclusion: A Legacy in the Making

ninamdot continues to redefine the boundaries of photography and art. Her work is not just seen—it is experienced. It challenges, inspires, and ignites a dialogue that extends far beyond the confines of a frame. As she continues to evolve and create, one thing is certain: ninamdot is painting her legacy with the indelible ink of artistic brilliance.
